Our bodies are the world conscious part of us. Our physical body is what enables us to live in the physical realm. When that is taken away we find ourselves in the Spiritual Realm immediately.
Our Soul is where our personality resides. It is the area of our emotions as well.
Our Spirits are the God conscious part of us. If we do not know God then our spirit is dead and cut off from Gods Spirit. Our spirits need a rebirth, we need to be given a perfect spirit in order for the Gods Spirit to dwell with us. Hence the term Born Again. 1 Peter 1:23
It has been said that the state of ones soul determines what we look like spiritually.
God promises to save our souls. See James 5:20
Below is demonstration of how our souls are given life from Genesis 2:7
After we die we are given a new body that is incorruptible and will shine the glory of God.
This is why it is now possible for those who are saved and have a perfect spirit living in them to actually sin. Sin comes from the body (fleshly nature).
So we are Body Soul and Spirit and in order for us to be perfect we need all these parts to be perfect.
For you have been born again,
not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring
word of God.

Romans 8:14
For as many as are led by the
Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Not sure where this scripture is. Our
spirits bear witness with Gods Spirit, that we are the Sons of God.
God promises that to all who are saved will receive a new spirit 2 Corinthians 1:22
set his seal of ownership on
us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Ezekiel 18:31
Rid yourselves of all the offenses
you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit.
Let him know, that he which converteth
the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall
hide a multitude of sins.
And the LORD God formed man of
the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and
man became a living soul.
We will become perfect and complete when we shed our sinful body and receive our perfect heavenly body. We will only receive the incorruptible body if we are saved. See 2 Corinthians 5:1
Now we know that if the earthly
tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house
in heaven, not built by human hands.
& again in 1 Corinthians 15:44
42 So will it be with the resurrection
of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable;
43 it is sown in dishonour, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it
is raised in power;
44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural
body, there is also a spiritual body.
45 So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living being" [1]; the last
Adam, a life-giving spirit.
Paul writes in Romans 7:24
What a wretched man I am! Who
will rescue me from this body of death?

Romans 7:16-17
16 And if I do what I do not
want to do, I agree that the law is good.
17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.
If we choose to live for God, he gives us a new Spirit and He promises us a new body that is perfect when we shed this old body of sin. Our Souls will live in true peace when we are fully restored.
